One month has passed since the first Grand Prix of the year, World Taekwondo Grand Prix Rome 2026, a landmark event that announces the starting point of the journey toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Under the inspiring motto “Reborn, Together,” this edition brought together the global taekwondo community to celebrate not only the start of a new Olympic cycle but also a significant milestone: the 60th anniversary of Taekwondo in Rome.
Daedo was proud to be part of this special event as the Official Supplier of the Gen3 Electronic Scoring System. Supporting athletes, coaches, referees, and organizers with reliable technology is at the heart of our commitment to the sport, and we are honored to continue contributing to the evolution of taekwondo at the highest level.

The Grand Prix brought together many of the world’s best taekwondo athletes and delivered outstanding matches throughout the event. One of the most memorable performances came from Team Daedo athlete Vito Dell’Aquila, who claimed the gold medal in the Men’s -58 kg division. Competing on home soil, the Italian star produced an exceptional tournament, defeating several of the top-ranked athletes before overcoming South Korea’s Eunsu Seo in a thrilling three-round final that was decided in the closing moments.

Another highlight of the tournament came from Laurene Kimi Ossin, the newest member of Team Daedo, who captured the gold medal in the Women’s +67 kg category. At just 18 years old, the French athlete confirmed her enormous potential with a dominant display throughout the competition.
Juan Milán was one of the biggest surprises of the tournament, delivering an impressive performance in the Men’s -80 kg division. The Spanish athlete showcased outstanding taekwondo in his matches against American World Championship silver medalist CJ Nickolas and Brazil’s Henrique Marques, the Paris 2024 Olympic champion.

The rest of the Team Daedo athletes also delivered strong performances. Adrián Vicente and Jairo Agenjo arrived in Rome following gold and bronze medal performances, respectively, at the European President’s Cup. Meanwhile, Violeta Díaz, Gaby Blewitt and Artem Harbar all competed at a high level, reaching the final stages of the tournament and narrowly missing out on the podium in one of the most competitive events on the World Taekwondo calendar.

The 2026 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Rome once again showcased the high standards of international taekwondo while highlighting the role of technical innovation in the evolution of taekwondo. At Daedo, we remain committed to the continuous development of the Gen3 Electronic Protector and Scoring System (PSS), providing athletes, coaches, and organizers with reliable technology throughout the competition season.

As the road to LA 2028 continues, we look forward to supporting the global taekwondo community at the upcoming events, including the World Taekwondo Grand Final in Astana, Kazakhstan. Through the continuous advancement of our technology, we strive to enhance the sport while staying true to the origins of taekwondo, where speed, precision, and dynamic action has been always at its core.
